The olive grove of Frantoio Montedoro produces a very rare olive called 'Raggia' which produces a light fruity extra virgin olive oil that has a distinct almond aroma and slight peppery taste.
The olive grove of Frantoio Montedoro is found in the beautiful Le Marche countryside, just inland from Senigallia.
Frantoio Montedoro was established over ten years ago by a co-operative of both young and old (but all passionate) Marchigiani olive growers (Marchigiani is Italian for 'locals from Le Marche').
The Frantoio Montedoro co-operative is dedicated to producing outstanding extra virgin olive oil by taking full advantage of the fertile soil and excellent olive growing climate of the beautiful region of Le Marche.
The olive mill and olive trees of Frantoio Montedoro are found deep in the beautiful Le Marche countryside in the area of land lying between the quiet villages of Montedoro and Roncitelli and just inland from the Adriatic town of Senigallia.
The owners of the Frantoio Montedoro co-operative are extremely dedicated to promoting extra virgin olive oil from Le Marche and demonstrate this by actively encouraging visits from educational establishments, such as local schools and colleges, and in arranging tours for visitors from other parts of Italy and indeed from all over the world.
Ask us about the olive oil appreciation tours we run in Le Marche which include a very special visit and farm stay at Frantoio Montedoro.
